Your brows are done by DK Abduli, founder of DK Aesthetics. She is Swiss Color certified and a Swiss Color Licensed Trainer: she trains other permanent-makeup artists in Illinois and New York, and she has also given trainings in Switzerland, directly at Swiss Color in St. Gallen.

Microblading uses fine manual strokes for a hair-like look; powder brows use a machine to build a soft, shaded ombré "brow makeup" finish. Powder brows tend to last longer and hold much better on oily skin, while microblading looks most hair-like on normal-to-dry skin.

They’re closely related. ‘Powder’ and ‘ombré’ brows use the same technique — a soft, misty shading that looks like powder makeup, with ombré simply blended lighter at the front. ‘Nano’ brows are different: crisp, hair-like strokes for a more natural, defined look, similar to microblading but often gentler on skin. We’ll recommend the style that suits your skin and goals at your consultation.

They're semi-permanent — commonly 2 to 3 years or more — and fade gradually depending on your skin and aftercare. A perfecting touch-up 4–6 weeks after your initial session is included, and periodic color refreshes keep them looking their best.

Yes — this is one of their biggest advantages. The soft, shaded pigment holds well on oily and combination skin, where fine microblading strokes tend to blur and fade quickly.

Powder brows give a soft, polished, 'filled-in' look rather than individual hairs. We can make them subtle and soft or more defined, and design the gradient and shade to flatter you. Many clients love how put-together they look.

Brows go through about 4–6 weeks of healing. They look darker and more intense at first, then soften considerably; light flaking is normal in the first week. We provide detailed aftercare.

Most clients find powder brows very tolerable. We apply a topical numbing cream before and during your session to keep you comfortable, and many describe the sensation as mild scratching or pressure rather than sharp pain. Everyone's sensitivity differs, and we check in with you throughout.

Performed by a trained, certified artist with sterile, single-use tools, powder brows are generally very safe. As with any cosmetic tattoo, risks like allergic reaction or infection exist, and PMU pigments are regulated as cosmetics — none are FDA-approved for injection into the skin. We review your health and contraindications (such as pregnancy) first.

We don't perform powder brows during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and we ask about certain conditions first, such as a tendency to form keloids or raised scars, active skin issues in the brow area, recent retinoid or chemical-peel use, blood-thinning medications, or being unwell. Some of these mean waiting rather than a permanent no. Dermatology guidance also suggests that anyone prone to keloids discuss it with their doctor beforehand, so we review your full health history at your consultation and advise on whether it's right for you.

Adjusting them is possible, though it isn't as simple as the original application, which is exactly why careful mapping and your approval before we begin matter so much. Because powder brows fade over time, small refinements can often be made at your touch-up. For fuller removal, options like laser or saline removal exist but usually require several sessions, and results vary by pigment color and skin, so we always recommend starting conservatively.
